This privacy policy describes how the mobile application OK PDF Reader ("the Application") handles your information. The Application lets you browse, read, and organise PDF files that are already on your device: merging, splitting, password-protecting and unlocking PDFs, and converting between images and PDFs.
In short: your documents never leave your device. Every PDF operation runs locally on your phone. We operate no servers and receive none of your files or personal data. The only third party involved is Google AdMob, which serves the advertisements that fund the app.
To show you the PDFs you already have and to save the files it produces, the Application asks for access to your device storage:
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) on Android 11 and above, or
storage access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) on older versions. This is used
only to list PDF files on your device, to open the one you tap, and to write the output of the PDF
tools into your Downloads folder. The Application never asks for this permission at first launch; it
shows an inline notice and only requests access when you choose to grant it, and it remains usable
without it.
File contents are read and written on your device only. They are not uploaded, transmitted, indexed, or shared with us or with any third party.
The Application keeps the following on your device so it can work between sessions. None of it is transmitted anywhere:
Uninstalling the Application, or clearing its data, permanently erases all of the above.
The Application does not require an account. We do not collect or store your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or location. We operate no servers that receive data from the Application.
The Application displays advertisements supplied by Google AdMob to fund its development. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process data such as your device's Advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and interaction with ads. Google may use this data to show you personalised or non-personalised advertisements depending on the choice you make in the consent screen described below.

The Application also checks whether your device has an internet connection, so it can avoid requesting ads while you are offline. No information about your connection is stored or shared.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the Application shows a consent screen provided by Google's User Messaging Platform before serving personalised advertisements. You choose there whether to allow personalised ads.
You can change that choice at any time: open the Tools tab and select Privacy options. Where the consent screen does not apply in your region, that entry is not shown.
Independently of the Application, you may reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads on Android).
The Application is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Application, please contact us at the address below and we will take appropriate action.
Because your documents and preferences stay on your device, their security depends on your device's own protections — a screen lock, an up-to-date operating system, and the storage encryption your device provides. Password protection you apply to a PDF using the Application uses AES-256 encryption; the password itself is never stored by the Application and cannot be recovered by us if you forget it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and changes take effect when they are posted here. Please review this page periodically.
